NSIC considers essential for the consolidation at the time of development of the local economy in informal urban settlements, the visibility in the international framework of the achievements in the local context. In this regard, we rely on the information society and knowledge values and opportunities identified during the work processes and strengthen the construction of new urban identities powerful and attractive to investors, which directly benefit the local community within a growing international market competitiveness of cities.
From the systematic use of Information Technology and Knowledge (ICT), we get involved, alongside major international research centers in the publication and dissemination of multilingual studies related to sustainable development of urban informal settlements, encouraging creating a space for debate global in which local governments with the presence of informal urbanization, have constantly new solutions to the generated needs.
We are aware that the digital gap in informal urban settlements is an accomplished fact. From NSIC, we strengthen local governments and civil society in the implementation of infrastructure systems, which, in the medium term, have the benefits that information technology can generate in the field of public services to citizens (e-government), education (e-learning), healthcare and business.
NSIC accompanies environmental transformation, economic and social development of urban informal settlements with the full integration of its people to the information society.
