We implement Technologically local and regional governments in the use of instruments for the diagnosis, planning, management and sustainable and viable organization of informal urban land, both occupied as awaiting occupation reinforcing components analysis of the social, economic and physical environment and promoting the completion of urban transformation projects feasible in short, medium and long term in order to respond to the social, environmental and economic questions facing urban informal settlements during the next decades.
NSIC reinforces strategic partnerships between public, private and third sector in order to manage economic and financial available resources more efficiently for comprehensive actions to improve urban informal settlements. To do this we identify the multiple spaces of opportunity locally, regionally and internationally related to the adequacy of living conditions developing strategic business plans viable and sustainable that promote capital investment attraction and the programmed transition of casual microeconomics towards stronger economic models and durable over time based on the acceptance of the rights and duties that determines a cohesive society.
We are involved in reducing physical vulnerability, social and environmental threat to the everyday urban informal settlements from technology implementation and technical training to local governments and civil society in the field of efficient risk management natural and anthropogenic. For this NSIC coordinates the implementation of planning and territory conservation instruments fot early warning programs and infrastructure protection, local prevention plans and diffusion of social cohesion policies as part of local economic development agendas , in order to protect against future potential threats and prepare the community for potential disasters. We reinforce weaknesses diagnosis, present and future environmental needs and expectations generated in the territorial context of degraded informal urban areas aiming to promote the significance of environmental quality in accordance with international conventions. To do this, NSIC works in developing and managing programs of action in the natural environment, the relationships among urban and its outskirts from the technological application of integrated information systems, providing long-term monitoring control actions, correction and protection in the natural environment, forecasting future potential risks posed by informal urbanization processes and strengthening the resilience of informal settlements to the effects generated by climate change and the ecological footprint. We work with local governments and civil society in developing strategic action programs aimed at improving viable and sustainable living conditions in precarious housing in informal urban areas. For this, NSIC prioritizes investigation of mechanisms that determine the different stages of production chains soil and informal tenure systems, with the goal of generating open cadastral information in connection with the deployment of ICT to facilitate viability of alternative processes of property regularization, the private property promotion impulse and thus the availability of new income sources for local governments to reinvest back into the community. We coordinate with multilateral and bilateral development agencies, local governments and regional mechanisms the completion of financial training for socio-economic progress of informal urban areas. For this, NSIC reinforces the compliance of the objectives set by financial investors guaranteeing transparency of processes and encouraging through the private and public sector, reduction of urban poverty and inequality, reducing the vulnerability of segments population, environmental sustainability, social and economic urban development and promoting the values of cooperation and integration of informal urban settlements in the territory. We strengthen communities linked to informal urban settlements in responsible land management in the context of local economic development by promoting citizen participation, local leadership, technical training related to environmental adaptation processes of urban informal areas, implementation of economic development strategies linked to the physical transformation of settlements and social inclusion of the population at most risk of vulnerability. In this sense, NSIC brings to informal urban areas the technical means and most advanced technology to influence the effective, continued and progressiveness improvement of living conditions.Economy and urban management
